What this means for your studio
Your records stay yours. Dancebeam is run by MakerStudio Software LLC. While you set your studio up, nothing about it is public yet: no one can register, and no money is collected.
What your staff can see and do follows the role you gave them. What a family member can see follows their own relationship to a dancer. No one at Dancebeam can read or change your records without your say-so: you name the person, say what they can see or change, and for how long.
Money your families pay you is yours, kept apart from what you pay us. We take no cut of it. You can export everything your studio holds, yourself, any time. No asking us first, no paid plan needed.
Archiving or closing your studio does not, on its own, erase anything. If you ask us to remove records, we remove what we may. What we keep — money records and agreements — we keep only as long as the rules require, and we tell you what and why. A removal request itself follows the same rule.
Need a person for any of this? Human support.
Service terms
Dancebeam service terms, version 1. Everything in Dancebeam is free with 50 counted dancers or fewer. After that, it is one flat price: $79 a month for unlimited dancers, families, locations and staff. Card and bank processing goes through the processor's own rate. We add no markup and take no cut. You can see your counted dancers and where your plan stands in your studio's billing. Your paid plan renews monthly from the day your purchase is confirmed. If you cancel, you keep your paid plan until the end of the period you paid for. There is no refund for the time left.
Support
Chat and email reach a Dancebeam person, on the free plan too. A Dancebeam person answers within one hour, Monday to Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. in your studio's time zone; a Sunday message is answered by 9:00 a.m. Monday. That is when we answer, not when the problem is solved. A 30-minute setup call is there when you ask for help setting up. It is never required. Moving over from your old system is free, and we do it for you when you ask.
Changes during the season
During August through June, the places you know and the way you work stay where they are. Nothing moves unless you turn the change on for your whole studio. If a change has to happen whether you choose it or not, it takes effect at the beginning of July in your studio's time zone, and we tell you before it does. Your records, your drafts, and everything already done stay as they are.
Your records
You can export everything your studio holds in one export, yourself, any time — before, during, and after you leave. No asking us first, no paid plan needed. Families, dancers, classes, money, attendance, waivers and staff hours all come with it. How long we keep records, and when we erase them, follows the rules we tell you about. An export cannot bring back what has been erased.
Your studio's rules
Tuition, prorates, second child discounts, late fees, split household amounts, costume fees and recital fees follow your studio's own policies automatically. When a fact a fee needs is missing, it stays visible for you to fix. We never collect an amount we made up.
What you accept when you create a studio: I accept the Dancebeam service terms, version 1, and privacy terms, version 1, for your studio.
Privacy terms
Dancebeam privacy terms, version 1. To see, correct, or remove the personal data your studio holds, ask us from your studio settings or write to a Dancebeam person. Our rules say what we keep, for how long, and when we erase it. Anyone whose details your studio holds can ask to see, correct or remove them.
